What can the Capital Xelles Basketball Club provide my daughter?
The Capital Xelles Basketball Club offers your daughter the opportunity to become the best basketball player she can be. Our club's focus is on total player development.  Our unique approach puts each player ahead of team development.   Under our program your daughter will enjoy great camaraderie, love of the sport and most importantly become a great ambassador of the game.

What is involved in a competitive program with the Xelles?
In keeping with our focus on development, we will provide your daughter with on court training. On average we have 2 training sessions per week. Atom and Bantam aged players begin training in September and Midget and Junior aged players begin in late November.  All our teams compete in the EOBA league and play an average 16 games. Each team competes in at least 5 tournaments and play in both the EOBA and Provincial Championships. Guest coaches will be brought in over the course of the season to supplement club training sessions.

Does my daughter require past competitive basketball experiences?
No, many of our players were new to the game prior to commencing with our club. You will be amazed at the progress over time. Our club is committed to making sure that every player improves her skills.

What does the registration fee cover?
Ontario Basketball Registration fees, all related league, EOBA and Provincial competition costs, all tournament travel and accommodations, gym time use, use of uniforms, coaching related costs

Do I need to purchase a uniform?
No. Your registration fee covers the cost of the uniform. All uniforms however must be returned at the end of the season otherwise a replacement fee will be charged.

          Team Composition/ Tryouts
We generally take 12 players on any Xelles team. Players are invited to tryout with our club. We conduct preliminary tryouts in the spring and finalize our teams in September.

Is there room for my daughter to play other Sports?
Although your daughter is encouraged to be a multi-sport athlete, it is expected that if a conflict arises, basketball will take priority.

What kind of time commitments are there?
Capital Xelles basketball players make a commitment to attend all practices, games and tournament play. Player development can only happen with regular attendance.

What kind of commitment do the parents make?

The parents of Capital Xelles basketball players are expected to have their daughters attend all practices, games and tournament play and to be supportive in their efforts.  Parents will also be asked to help in fundraising events such as canteens and when we host our annual basketball tournament.

What if I can't get my daughter to practices or games?

We realize that many parents are unable to always get their daughters to practices or games because of work or other family commitments. The parents of Capital Xelles basketball players also work as a team in helping each other out. Should you ever find yourself unable to bring your daughter to a game or practice, simply contact the other parents and someone will help you out.
